FAST, EASY WISDOM TOOTH REMOVAL IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY

WISDOM TOOTH REMOVAL IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY & SURROUNDING AREAS

Most people have their wisdom teeth removed between the ages of 17 and 25. However, sometimes wisdom teeth can become impacted, meaning they grow in at an angle or get stuck beneath the gums. Impacted wisdom teeth can cause pain, crowding, and infection. At A+ Family Dentistry, we can evaluate your wisdom teeth and determine if removal is necessary.

The Wisdom Tooth Removal Process

Wisdom teeth removal is typically an outpatient procedure. This means you can go home the same day as your surgery. The steps of this common procedure are outlined below so you can understand what to expect:

The first step is to meet with our team for a consultation. During this appointment, we will take X-rays of your mouth to assess the position of your wisdom teeth and determine if removal is necessary.

Once it is determined that wisdom teeth removal is the best course of action, we will schedule you for surgery.

On the day of your surgery, you will be given a local anesthetic to numb the treatment area. You may also be given a sedative to help you relax. Once you are comfortable, our oral surgeon will make small incisions in your gums to access your wisdom teeth.Your wisdom teeth will then be removed. The incisions in your gums will be closed with stitches. A gauze pad will be placed over the surgical site to help control bleeding.

You will be given post-operative instructions and can go home to rest once the anesthesia has worn off. It is important to eat soft foods and avoid chewing on the side of your mouth where the surgery was performed. You should also brush and floss gently around the surgical site. You will need to come back for a follow-up appointment so we can check your progress and remove your stitches (if necessary).

How Much Does Wisdom Teeth Removal Cost?

The cost of wisdom teeth removal will vary depending on a few factors, such as:

The number of wisdom teeth being removed

The position of your wisdom teeth

Whether or not you need sedation

The average cost of wisdom teeth removal is $75-$200 per tooth. However, we will work with you to make sure the procedure is affordable. We offer a variety of payment options and accept most major insurance plans.

Does Insurance Cover Wisdom Teeth Removal?

Most insurance plans cover at least a portion of wisdom teeth removal. This is because wisdom teeth removal is considered a necessary procedure. Our team will work with your insurance company to make sure you understand your coverage and benefits.

Get Your Wisdom Teeth Removed As Soon As Possible

At A+ Family Dentistry, we recommend getting your wisdom teeth removed as soon as possible. This is because it is easier to remove wisdom teeth before they become impacted. Impacted wisdom teeth can cause pain, infection, and damage to your other teeth. If you think you may need wisdom teeth removal, please contact us today to schedule an appointment.
